16-01

16-01 is an orthophthalic based resin suitable for all types of casting applications. This resin is capable of producing articles with glass like or toughened glass like transparency when used properly with correct hardener.

This resin has been formulated to provide an adequate shelf life, while providing a relatively rapid after cure and a large cure plateau. This resin is usually pre accelerated when sold.

Post curing

Mature the laminate for 24 hours at room temperature, followed by post curing at 60ºC for 16 hours or at 80ºC for 3 hours

Usage

16-01 performs best if the laminate is completely post cured.

If MEKP of 50% peroxide content is used as catalyst to cure the resin, then the optimum ratio of the catalyst to be used is 1.5% (V/W) of the resin being used. However, this quantity of catalyst and accelerator may be adjusted to get the optimum gel time. Variations in catalyst ratio might impact the colour of final product.

Storage

16-01 remains stable for 2 months at 30ºC in the dark. The stability deteriorates markedly at elevated temperatures, especially when exposed to direct sunlight

18-01(FR)

18-01(FR) is an orthophthalic based fire retardant resin. This resin is suitable for most general purpose applications of your choice for fire retardant applications.

Post curing

Mature the laminate for 24 hours at room temperature, followed by post curing at 60ºC for 16 hours or at 80ºC for 3 hours

18-01(FR) performs best if the laminate is completely post cured.

If the Cobalt based accelerator of 3% concentration is used along with MEKP of 50% peroxide content as catalyst to cure the resin, then the optimum ratio of the accelerator and catalyst to be used is 1.5% (V/W) of the resin being used. However, this quantity of catalyst and accelerator may be adjusted to get the optimum gel time.

Since viscosity increases on the storage due to styrene evaporation, styrene may be added to lower viscosity.

32-01(FR)

32-01(FR) is an isophthalic based fire retardant resin. This resin is suitable for most general purpose applications of your choice for fire retardant applications. 32-01(FR) is suitable for all fire retardant hand lay up applications requiring high mechanical strength and / or high chemical and atmospheric resistance.
